I have significant experience creating and maintaining communications strategies, as well as drafting long- and short-form copy.

Communications and stakeholder-engagement strategies

I have significant experience coordinating and executing communications initiatives and activities. This includes drafting and implemnting:

  • Communications strategies and plans (for the European Patent Office, Philips, and Euroports)
  • Stakeholder-engagement strategies and plans (for the European Patent Office)
  • A content-management strategy (for IKEA)

 

As Writer and Communications Coordinator for the IT Roadmap at the EPO from 2008 to 2013, I ran the communications and information-management activities of the IT Roadmap, a multi-year change programme. In this role, I:

  • Drafted key documents, including the stakeholder-engagement strategy and plans for the programme
  • Drafted or edited a range of communications for distribution over a number of channels, such as speeches and presentations by top management to the EPO Budget and Finance Committee and the Administrative Council
  • Published regular articles in the Gazette, the main communications organ (online and print) of the EPO, which is distributed to the EPO’s 38 Member States and to the other members of the Big Five (China, Japan, South Korea, and the United States)

Copywriting

I regularly write long- and short-form copy for organisations in the private and public sectors, including the following:

  • Blog posts
  • Commercial brochures
  • Press releases
  • Articles for corporate magazines
  • Internal communications
  • One-pagers
  • Social-media posts
  • Web content
  • Intranet content
